Getting Started

Cinegraph is a browser-based platform — no installation required. Create an account, open a new presentation, and start building your data story in minutes.

  1. Create an Account

    Sign up with Google or email. Your presentations are stored securely in the cloud.

  2. New Presentation

    From the Dashboard, click "New Presentation". You'll be taken to the editor with a blank scene.

  3. Add Your First Chart

    Click the Chart tool in the toolbar, pick a chart type, and import your data (Excel, CSV, or JSON).

  4. Animate & Share

    Set keyframes on the timeline, configure camera paths, then share via link or export as 4K video.

Editor Interface

  • Toolbar (top): tool selection, save, play, undo/redo.
  • Scene List (left panel): manage, reorder, and duplicate scenes.
  • 3D Viewport (center): drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, right-click to pan.
  • Properties Panel (right): object settings, data editor, style controls.
  • Timeline (bottom): keyframe tracks, playback controls, scene duration.

Cinegraph includes 37 3D chart types organized into six categories. All charts support keyframe animation, color palettes, and live data editing.

Drag & drop an Excel (.xlsx), CSV, or JSON file onto any chart. The column detector auto-maps your data. You can also paste data directly into the built-in table editor.

FAQ

Do I need to know how to code?
No. Cinegraph is a fully visual, no-code platform. All chart types, animations, camera paths, and transitions are configured through the editor UI.
What file formats can I import?
Excel (.xlsx), CSV, JSON for data. PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF for images. MP4, WebM for video. MP3, OGG, WAV for audio. GLTF/GLB for 3D models.
Can I embed a presentation on my website?
Yes. From the Share panel, select the Embed tab to get an iframe snippet. You can configure width, height, auto-play, and whether the toolbar is visible.
How do I export as video?
Open the Share panel and select the Video tab. Choose WebM (browser-rendered, lossless) or PNG sequence. Resolutions up to 4K are supported.
How many scenes can a presentation have?
There is no hard limit. Each scene has its own timeline, objects, camera path, lights, and background. Presentations with 50+ scenes are fully supported.
What is Scrollytelling mode?
Scrollytelling mode turns your presentation into a scroll-driven narrative — the viewer scrolls a webpage and the 3D presentation advances in sync. You can configure layout (side-by-side, overlay, fullwidth) and chapter transitions.
Can the AI build a presentation from my Excel file?
Yes. Drop your Excel or CSV file into the ✨ Start window, describe what you want (or just press Create), and the AI builds a dashboard or a narrated scroll story — picking the best chart type and the right columns for each table automatically.
Does the AI Assistant need an API key?
No. Cinegraph AI works out of the box with a free daily quota. Optionally, add your own Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude API key for higher limits and image understanding.
Can I undo what the AI does?
Yes. Every AI action — adding charts, editing data, changing themes — is a normal editor operation and can be reverted with Ctrl+Z, including bulk builds as a single undo step.
Can Cinegraph fetch live data from the internet?
Yes. Ask the AI Assistant to search the web (or use the /web command) — it finds current data, builds the table, charts it, and cites its sources.
Does Cinegraph work on mobile?
Shared presentations are fully viewable on mobile with touch navigation (swipe between scenes, scroll stories supported). The editor works on tablets and phones with a compact layout, but a desktop browser is recommended for building.
Can I use my own fonts?
Cinegraph includes a wide selection of built-in fonts via the font manager. Custom font upload is planned for a future release.
Is my data stored securely?
All presentations are stored on your account with bearer-token authentication. Shared links can be password-protected and set to expire.
Can I collaborate in real-time?
Real-time collaboration is on the roadmap. Currently, you can share a presentation link for read-only viewing, or export and hand off a file.
What browsers are supported?
Cinegraph requires a WebGL 2.0 capable browser. Chrome 90+, Firefox 90+, Edge 90+, and Safari 15+ are fully supported.
